We live in a generation of angry young men. Men who harbor massive resentment towards women and blame them for their romantic shortcomings. But is that even fair?

You claim that women use and lead you on. That your time is disrespected. You always get friend zoned for no reason. You go online and make grand statements such as, “Women only date assholes”. Then you tell yourself, “This is why I don’t even try in the first place.”

I get it. You’re frustrated by a lack of success, and it hurts.

But maybe you should be pointing the finger at yourself. You let it happen. If you continually allow yourself to be disrespected, then you are to blame. It’s your job to prevent that from occurring or stop it when it does.

Let’s get proactive and break down why you feel used by women:

You expect them to sleep with you by just being there

“I was so nice to her. I listened to all her problems. I treated her with respect! And what do I get out of it? Her telling me that I’m an amazing friend while she sleeps with some other guy. What a biatch.”

Are you even listening to yourself? Do you know how manipulative you sound? You’re admitting that you expected her to have sex with you simply because you spent time with her. You were doing all these “friendly” gestures with strings attached.

Think of a girl in your lifetime that you had zero romantic feelings for. Maybe a co-worker or school friend you weren’t attracted to. If she hung around you and then automatically expected you to hook up with her, how would you feel? Would you sleep with her just because she was nice to you? I don’t think so.

Accept that attraction is an emotion which requires more than just standing around. The only time a girl is supposed to sleep with you is when she’s ready. And she’ll never be ready until she sees you in a sexual light.

You invest with your wallet, not with yourself

You don’t need to shower a girl with money or gifts to win her over. And if that’s what it takes, then she’s not worth the investment.

I’m not advocating being a cheapskate. If you want to pay for a round of drinks or a reasonably priced dinner, awesome. But don’t go dropping $200 on a bottle of wine or lavish presents before you’ve even built something substantial. You’re setting yourself up as the wrong type of partner. Also, it’s intense for many girls and places a lot of unwanted pressure on them.

Try to see it from her point of view. All she’s going to think is, “This guy doesn’t know me and is already willing to spend all this money. He must be desperate.” Even if it’s subconscious, she’ll slot you mainly as a provider and not a lover.

Look to create romantic connections using only yourself and not what you can offer monetarily.

You change to win them over

Seek out women who like you. The worst thing you can do is start a connection by pretending to be someone else. All it shows is that you’re insecure and you’ll do anything for approval.

Do you think a woman will respect you more or less when she sees you’re so easily molded? She’ll never view you as an equal partner and will continue to walk all over you. At first, it will be small changes. Eventually, you’ll forget who you even were.

Of course, as a relationship progresses, compromise is important. But those compromises should be fair and within reason. If you have a hardcore substance problem where you become an abusive prick, change makes sense. But if you like to smoke the occasional bowl to relax before bed, that’s a perfectly normal part of you.

Be upfront about who you are and what you want from the beginning. Don’t hide your smoking, toking, or drinking habits. Don’t stop playing video games (again, within reason) because she thinks they’re stupid. Don’t change your diet to match hers. And don’t ignore friendships unless your friends are mistreating you or her.

Have a backbone and be your own person. She can accept it or you’ll find someone who will.

You never push it forward and show your intentions

If you spend time with a girl you like and you don’t express your sexual intentions, you only have yourself to blame when she “leads you on”. You’re being dishonest and lying your way into the friend zone. A woman needs to be turned on by you to even consider you as a sexual prospect.

Most women are not evil monsters who get off on dragging you around. They either don’t know how you feel because you fake being a friend. Or they do know, but are looking out for themselves. They don’t want to have to reject you. They don’t want to lose you as a friend. Or they love the attention and hey, you’re giving it away for free!

I love when guys try to defend their actions with, “But I actually want to treat her like a person. I’m not just trying to get in her pants like every other douche.” They make themselves out to be superior men because they didn’t flirt with her.

Stop trying to justify your fears and insecurities by shaming sex. Deep down, you want to sleep with her as much as anyone else. You’re making her out to be a victim of predators when she’s the one actively choosing to hook up with them and not you.

You can still give a shiet about a woman and want to build a meaningful connection while being sexually forward. In fact, these are the guys who attract the most quality women. The combination of genuine connection and raw sexual attraction is the ultimate aphrodisiac. Showing your interest does not make you a jerk, it makes you a human.

For Anyone Considering Taking Out A Crippling Loan To Attend A ‘For Profit College’, Read This

for profit college

Before you take out a 100,000 loan to attend a ‘for profit’ college, graduate, find no job prospects because the education and training you receieved from aforementioned college was sup-par at best, left in the dust with a crippling loan that you are in no way capable of ever paying back and force to live in misery for the rest of your life because the loan will always overshadow any joy that may come into your life, read a few of these testimonies and watch the Frontline documentary College Inc.

Why are ‘for profit’ college bad?

They have a profit motive. The thing is, academic standards aren’t really profitable; to get the most money, you want to accept as many students as possible and ensure that none of them drop out. So a for-profit college’s degree doesn’t really mean anything; nobody will care if you have it.  The problem with these universities is not that they have such big classes, it’s that the courses are not as intensive and difficult as more traditional schools.

If I want to hire someone, I’d like to know that they are willing to work hard, jump through hoops, and succeed in a difficult environment. You simply don’t get this at a for profit school.

And the more people they enroll the more they get from gov’t grants (including GI bill) to help with tuition–regardless of if the student can ever earn enough money from those degrees to repay them.

And the recruiters are basically salesmen, who use high pressure sales tactics and will accept anybody who can qualify for a government backed, student loan.

1. Currently attending an Art Institute school. The Game Art senior project is a 9 month long class with a team of 20+ people all working on one game. Its a fucking nightmare. At a senior level anywhere you should not be teaching people basic skills like how to bake out normal maps or explaining why you need to adjust pivot points before you export models. Out of the 24 we started with we have lost 10 that have realized they couldnt cut it or we have outright fired them from the project. Out of the remaining 14 only 6 can make a case for being good at what they are doing.

The problem with AI, and the teachers will tell you this if you ask them outside school, is that the recruiters take ANYONE. they dont care how talented they are. You draw crappy anime all day and have no sense of anatomy or proportion? thats fine! you can be a character modeler! They make you suffer through a year of “foundation” classes that are largely irrelevant before you even get to your major. When you are there they insist you take their shitty general education and humanities classes at the same time that are 2000 a piece. Yeah thanks ill take those somewhere else and save 25 grand.

While im on the money subject. You are forced to write down the total cost for your degree on paperwork at LEAST a dozen times so its not a suprise at all. However 1/3 of that 96 grand is their student housing, another 25-30 is the general education classes and another big chunk is the foundation studies classes. If you came here and took just the Game Art, and Media Arts and Animation classes you could walk away for under 25 grand

I was lucky and had already had lots of artistic experience and a bunch of computer science under my belt. However like i explained that puts me in a very small percentage here.

for profit college

2. Just a heads up, I know a lot of these for-profit colleges advertise their "game development" programs heavily. I’ve been told by multiple managers that resumes from say the Art Institute won’t even hit their desks unless the inpidual had proven themselves outside of "school". If you’re in a "Game Developer" track program check if your program is accredited. If it’s not seriously reconsider where you’re putting your money. I’ve been told numerous times that a "Game Developer" is not a position that is ever hired, they are grown internally. Focus on something you’re good at whether it be art, programming, modelling, or mapping. If you’re in a program that is doing all of those at once I’ll guarantee you will have a hard time finding a job. I went to a state college for computer science and only paid 2K per semester for classes, yet every "game developers" conference I go to seems filled with kids who paid 70K for their "game developers" degree and have absolutely no accreditation and no real mastery of any skills. I have seen people absolutely crushed by recruiters because their 2D/3D/Programming portfolios are on the same level as high school students. The last conference I went to half of the for-profit "college" seniors had their "final projects" made in Flash, are you fucking kidding me. 70K for Flash games!? The other half made simply scripted UDK3 levels that all used built in assets. I asked one student what programming languages he used for his project and he said "kismet". If you don’t know why that’s bad you seriously need to re-think things. I’m sorry if I seem angry but I’m sick of shit "colleges" sucking away folks money for absolutely no gain.

3. 27 years old, still living with parents. Went to 2 "for profit" colleges getting a useless associates and a 3D art bachelors. Moved out of state for 2nd college, and lived entirely off of loans for 3ish years. Over those 3-5 years, the gaming / film industry has started seeing corruption in outsourcing majority of their jobs across seas. Rendering me with a useless degree until my skills are at godsend level or I get really lucky while networking. (Don’t ask to see my portfolio, I’m going to get enough shit from my bad financial decisions to get shat on more on my work). It’s been roughly 2 years since I graduated, spending about 10 months unemployed and looking for work. I work at a job that’s "Somewhat" related to my field making around $34,000/year. I also do part time 3rd shift at a job at a hospital making about $12 an hour. I’m trying to find a 3rd source of income and I keep jumping around between ideas. Do I code an android app and hope for the best? Do I make funny youtube videos and hope for the best? Do I write a shitty book and hope for the best? I am constantly trying to learn new skills that could help me knock out a good portion of these loans.

Little things become big things.

When you justify and allow even little things into your life which your intuition warns you against, you permit a virus to enter your life. It spreads to other areas.

When you introduce a change to any system, you simultaneously change the whole system. The other areas of the system will begin arranging themselves to better fit with the new.

Going against your higher intuitive voice is a slippery-slope. You don’t realize day to day how out of whack things are really getting.

Any small problem or indulgence cannot be viewed in isolation. It reflects something much bigger and much deeper. Sometimes it takes an intense wake-up call to become aware of the signals.

But once your eyes are open, and you’re in a place to hear your inner voice, it all becomes painfully obvious. You’ve known all along you were living against yourself, but you continued to justify.

The sickening reality is that you actually began to settle into the mediocrity, and convince yourself that you’re okay with it. Even when it shows itself throughout your entire life.

Your relationships are worse than they used to be. But you justify and adapt.

Your health is worse than it used to be. But you justify and adapt.

You’re more distracted than ever. Oh well.

Your thinking has become dull and polluted with the trivial and negative.

Your life is a garden. You can’t just cosmetically hide your problems. You must take them by the root and completely rip them out.

It’s the only way.

The virus must be removed.

If it is not removed, it will continue to infect your whole life and the core of who you are as a person will slowly and painfully die.

What is Private Always Shows Itself Publicly

“A private victory always precedes a public victory.” — Stephen R. Covey

Nothing in your life is hidden. You may think it is, but it’s not.

I have a friend who is constantly dieting. Whenever he’s around me, he always eats healthy. Yet, he always seems to be struggling with his weight.

Although this friend will not show his demons in public, it’s obvious by his weight that in his private prison, he numbs himself in the comfort of food.

The same is true of all people. Every area of your life is on display. You’re not fooling anyone.

Words are weak.

Your life speaks for itself.

A Few Answers To Questions You Always Wondered About

What’s it like to have an extremely high IQ?

Years ago, aged eighteen, I joined MENSA. I left after a year, having seen ample evidence to support the old description of MENSA as “The society for people impressed by their own intelligence”. In truth, the whole organisation was creepy. Anyway, when I applied they sent me an IQ test which you sent in to be scored. If you scored highly enough they asked you to attend a monitored exam. I scored 158 on the test at home and 159 when I went to London to be tested.

I have never encountered anything, either at school, university or at work that has been intellectually difficult for me. I got an English degree and a law degree and barely worked to get either. My memory has always served me well. I quickly see patterns that others don’t seem to notice (that’s your IQ test sewn up right there) and just find concepts come easier to me than to a lot of other people. I do get bored with most subjects quite quickly but, so far, so good.

The problem, for me, lies in the fact that I never developed any sense of urgency about anything. People will be impressed by how hard I worked on something when, in truth, I zipped through it in no time at all, paying it almost no attention. I learned to let people think I have worked hard because it serves me well. I’m essentially, and incurably, lazy. I should have achieved so much more and I am bright enough to know it. I’m fifty years old now, have been married twenty years and have three beautiful children, so my life is no train wreck, but I know I have shortchanged myself and my family. I constantly look at others with envy; never of their material success but of their professional achievements and work ethic. I could have done pretty much anything I wanted to do, but have ended up drifting into a sales career which pays well but gives me not one ounce of professional satisfaction or pride.

A high IQ is a great advantage but, in later life, it will torment you in ways the young cannot imagine. If you don’t learn to make best use of it, a high IQ will remind you on an almost hourly basis that you threw it all away. This is why so many underachieving people are unable to shut the fuck up about it – we become addicted in childhood to praise which dries up once more diligent, if less intelligent, peers start overtaking us. Those who are not socially intelligent enough to recognise how obnoxious it is will mention their intelligence whenever they get a chance, imagining that other people care. I suspect we’ll see a lot of that in this thread.

The world and its prizes belong, quite rightly, to hard working people, not intelligent ones.

What’s it like to have a mentally handicapped sibling?

My brother was severely retarded and had Dubowitz syndrome. All his life he never got past being a two year old mentally, he couldn’t speak, could barely understand words, had terrible balance when he walked, cried horribly when he was bored (which was often – we either had to have Barney on constantly or I would to dance with him to loud music until I was exhausted). If we didn’t watch him, He would go to the bathroom, turn on the hot water water and put his hand underneath it (I used to wonder if there was a sentient person trapped in his brain and this was his only method of communicating). He pulled my hair in the morning because he’d wake up at 6am because he naturally woke up that early and I, being a kid, didn’t and my mom, exhausted from taking care of him all the time, didn’t either. He’d smear corn infused poop everywhere if he wasn’t changed right away (he always wore diapers) and when you’re a single mom of a brat (me) and a mentally handicapped kid and your job is already exhausting because you’re on your feet all day, you can’t come home and relax you have to take care of him, but there’s a point where you break and you can’t do it anymore and you sit in your chair, depressed and alone and overwhelmed, and there are not enough resources for these families.

He got into a group home before I went into fifth grade. That was after a many years long waiting list. The guilt my mom experienced for “abandoning” him… For not being able to care properly for her child.. It destroyed her. To this day. He died a week before his 21st birthday and I hadn’t seen him for 5 years before then.

I wouldn’t wish that existence on anyone. Not what my mother went through, not what he went through. There was no point to his life. I would never want that for any child I bore. I would never want that life for any other children I bore who would become their sibling.

You have to be STRONG to survive raising a child like that. Not everyone has that strength. Not everyone with that strength may last. It is hard. Harder than any one who hasn’t experienced it could know. And I don’t wish anyone to experience it if they don’t want to.

What does it feel like to be Trans?

When I look in the mirror in the morning, before having shaved, it’s certainly a painful experience. But perhaps not in exactly the way you might imagine.

The immediate reaction I get from my reflection is a feeling of very strong disassociation, accompanied by a kind of shock, confusion, or mental jarring. (Actually, the shock is what I notice first).

I have the strong, gut-level sensation that whoever is behind the mirror is not me. This feels just as wrong and surreal as it would feel if someone played a trick on you, and replaced the bathroom mirror with a pane of glass with a pantomime behind it pretending to be you.

My reflection in the morning feels like a mirage, feels alien, unreal, and very very distant. It causes my eyes to unfocus and for me to take refuge in my thoughts rather than being in the here and now.

I experienced this all my life, even when I didn’t know I was trans.

Isn’t it funny how I can suffer so much, and so obviously, now, but once not have known I was trans? Well, this was made possible by the fact that I didn’t know why I was disassociated from my reflection in the mirror. I think I just felt I was ugly, or that I hated myself (a good explanation when I did, in fact, hate myself).

Or, the feeling was just so normal, seeing as I had had it all my life, that I didn’t think anything special about it; it was just what I always experienced. I think I imagined that perhaps everyone else experienced that, while simultaneously I feared to explain it to anyone in case I was a freak.

My defense was just to disassociate as much as possible from my image and sense of self, which led me to be rather scruffy and socially awkward. The latter thing was because I couldn’t really take the mental view of “watching myself” as I spoke. This meant I was almost always very unaware of the effect of what I was saying or doing. (Only since I began to live as a woman has this lack of self-awareness begun to really resolve itself).

I would also take refuge in my thoughts when I was a child even more than I do now. I remember almost every day experiencing a sense of comfort and release when I was lost in my thoughts, somehow managing to imagine I didn’t exist. When something brought me back to reality, I would come down from my dreamland with a jarring bump, and it would feel so horrible to remember my existence and identity.

And really I wasn’t much aware of this being about my gender, or I don’t think so*. I just didn’t like to be me.

*I am pretty sure that at some point when I was very young I was aware of wanting to be a girl, but later suppressed that knowledge. I have only disjointed and vague memories to go by, though.

Nowadays I am much more at peace with myself, though it’s interesting that the only times I’ve ever spontaneously said “I love myself” have been after taking hormones.

When I started my gender transition by very radically jumping into full-time life as a woman, I first experienced a sort of daze, for about a week. I had broken through so many internal barriers at once, it was as if a train had hit me.

After that I found myself becoming a lot more grounded. I could finally get closer to reality and my sense of self, as those things no longer felt so intolerable for me.

Nowadays, after almost 3 months of hormones, my face is becoming more feminine. I’m harassed less on the street. Sometimes people’s eyes pop out a bit when I mention I’m trans.

And, once I’ve shaved and covered up my beard shadow with makeup, I can have what for me is still an odd experience: I can look at myself.

I mean, I can look at myself for longish periods of time, without my eyes unfocusing, and without the feeling that existence is somehow intolerable.

By the way, I don’t mean I think of suicide; my experience all my life has been that the thought of existing was intolerable, and that I wanted to imagine I had no existence, no sense of self. Seeing myself in the mirror or remembering my sense of self caused me an intense mental jarring, a feeling of wrongness.

Now that that is gone, or at least going, it is kind of a strange feeling. Existence doesn’t weigh so heavy on me. The thought “I am me” doesn’t feel so horrible, so unthinkable.

The old feelings come and go. Sometimes I still feel resistance to my sense of self, for instance when I haven’t looked in the mirror and my old self image returns by force of habit. But sometimes I feel surprised to notice that I haven’t felt like this for a while, and that it actually feels OK to be me.

How does the book Foundations of Geopolitics, by Alexander Dugin coincide with Vladimir Putin’s political agenda?

The book declares that “the battle for the world rule of [ethnic] Russians” has not ended and Russia remains “the staging area of a new anti-bourgeois, anti-American revolution.” The Eurasian Empire will be constructed “on the fundamental principle of the common enemy: the rejection of Atlanticism, strategic control of the USA, and the refusal to allow liberal values to dominate us.”

Military operations play relatively little role. The textbook believes in a sophisticated program of subversion, destabilization, and disinformation spearheaded by the Russian special services. The operations should be assisted by a tough, hard-headed utilization of Russia’s gas, oil, and natural resources to bully and pressure other countries.

The book states that “the maximum task [of the future] is the ‘Finlandization’ of all of Europe”.

In Europe:

Germany should be offered the de facto political dominance over most Protestant and Catholic states located within Central and Eastern Europe. Kaliningrad oblast could be given back to Germany. The book uses the term a “Moscow-Berlin axis”.

France should be encouraged to form a “Franco-German bloc” with Germany. Both countries have a “firm anti-Atlanticist tradition”.

United Kingdom should be cut off from Europe.

Finland should be absorbed into Russia. Southern Finland will be combined with the Republic of Karelia and northern Finland will be “donated to Murmansk Oblast”.

Estonia should be given to Germany’s sphere of influence.

Latvia and Lithuania should be given a “special status” in the Eurasian-Russian sphere.

Poland should be granted a “special status” in the Eurasian sphere.

Romania, Macedonia, “Serbian Bosnia” and Greece – “orthodox collectivist East” – will unite with the “Moscow the Third Rome” and reject the “rational-individualistic West”.

Ukraine should be annexed by Russia because ““Ukraine as a state has no geopolitical meaning, no particular cultural import or universal significance, no geographic uniqueness, no ethnic exclusiveness, its certain territorial ambitions represents an enormous danger for all of Eurasia and, without resolving the Ukrainian problem, it is in general senseless to speak about continental politics”. Ukraine should not be allowed to remain independent, unless it is cordon sanitaire, which would be inadmissible.

In the Middle East and Central Asia:

The book stresses the “continental Russian-Islamic alliance” which lies “at the foundation of anti-Atlanticist strategy”. The alliance is based on the “traditional character of Russian and Islamic civilization”. Iran is a key ally. The book uses the term “Moscow-Tehran axis”.

Armenia has a special role and will serve as a “strategic base” and it is necessary to create “the [subsidiary] axis Moscow-Erevan-Teheran”. Armenians “are an Aryan people … [like] the Iranians and the Kurds”.

Azerbaijan could be “split up” or given to Iran.

Georgia should be dismembered. Abkhazia and “United Ossetia” (which includes Georgia’s South Ossetia) will be incorporated into Russia. Georgia’s independent policies are unacceptable.

Russia needs to create “geopolitical shocks” within Turkey. These can be achieved by employing Kurds, Armenians and other minorities.

The book regards the Caucasus as a Russian territory, including “the eastern and northern shores of the Caspian (the territories of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan)” and Central Asia (mentioning Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kirghistan and Tajikistan).

In Asia:

China, which represents a danger to Russia, “must, to the maximum degree possible, be dismantled”. Dugin suggests that Russia start by taking Tibet-Xinjiang-Mongolia-Manchuria as a security belt. Russia should offer China help “in a southern direction – Indochina (except Vietnam), the Philippines, Indonesia, Australia” as geopolitical compensatation.

Russia should manipulate Japanese politics by offering the Kuril Islands to Japan and provoking anti-Americanism.

Mongolia should be absorbed into Eurasia-Russia.

The book emphasizes that Russia must spread Anti-Americanism everywhere: “the main ‘scapegoat’ will be precisely the U.S.”

In the United States:

Russia should use its special forces within the borders of the United States to fuel instability and separatism. For instance, **provoke “Afro-American racists”. Russia should “introduce geopolitical disorder into internal American activity, encouraging all kinds of separatism and ethnic, social and racial conflicts, actively supporting all dissident movements – extremist, racist, and sectarian groups, thus destabilizing internal political processes in the U.S. It would also make sense simultaneously to support isolationist tendencies in American politics.”

The Eurasian Project could be expanded to South and Central America.
