Fatima Grupico

Fatima Grupico, 24, a history teacher at a now-defunct Catholic high school in central New Jersey is accused of repeatedly having sex with a 17-year-old male student. 

The Middlesex County prosecutor has charged Fatima Grupico, of Linden, with sexual assault and child endangerment.

Grupico is accused of having sex with the boy at Cardinal McCarrick High School in South Amboy on several occasions.

Megan Mahoney

Born in 1993, was a gym teacher at Moore Catholic High School in Staten Island. She offered to “coach” a male student (then 16 years old) in basketball, but what she really meant was something else. They then began an affair, continuing from October 2014, to January 2014.

Mahoney, in addition to teaching gym, was the schools assistant athletic director and assistant girls basketball coach at the time.

Police claim that she and the student had sex at least twice and week. The affair came to light when Mahoney and the student were caught engaging in a sexual act at a local pizza parlor and the student involved also bragged about the relationship to his friends.

Mahoney resigned from her job and the student was expelled in January 2014, when officials informed the school of the affair. In October 2014, Mahoney was charged with 30 counts of statutory rape and and four counts of criminal sexual acts.

Heather Daughdrill

28 year old Heather Daughdrill had sex with a young, 13 year old boy after meeting him at a summer Bible camp. “The investigation revealed Daughdrill would engage in inappropriate sexual contact with the boy after picking him up from school without the parents’ knowledge,” the press release explains. Lewd text messages were found between her and the boy.  She faces criminal charges such as sexual battery, carnal knowledge of a juvenile, kidnapping, indecent behavior with a juvenile and contributing to delinquency

Shelley Dufresne & Rachel Respess

Two Louisiana High School teachers have been arrested after allegedly having a threesome with a student who was 16 at the time.

Shelley Dufresne (right), 33, was charged with carnal knowledge of a juvenile and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Fellow English teacher Rachel Respess(left), 23, faces the same charges.

Dufresne is married with three children and has been teaching at DHS for 10 years. Respess graduated from Destrehan in 2008 and has been teaching at the school for two years.

The student is 17 years old now, but was 16 at the time the alleged crime took place. The student bragged to classmates about having sex with two teachers and also claimed to have some sessions captured on video, which resulted in a St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office investigation.

Melody Lippert & Michelle Ghirelli

Michelle Ghirelli, a 30-year-old teacher at a West Covina, CA high school, has been arrested for participating in sexual acts with students while another teacher, 38-year-old Melody Lippert, was present. In two separate encounters – one with Lippert, one without – Ghirelli organized parties and sleepovers at a San Clemente beach in Southern California. Students took to Twitter to express their lack of surprise that the flirty teacher was finally caught engaging in inappropriate behavior with students.

Amber Jennings

Amber Jennings, 30, a Massachusetts teacher, emailed nude photos of herself (and one video) to a 16-year-old male student. She served two years probation.

Christina Oliver

Oliver was a 24-year-old teacher from California who had sex with a 16-year-old male student. He was a student in her sophomore English class and supposedly had sex with him multiple times before his father called the cops. Oliver pleaded guilty to four counts of having sex with a minor, did 150 days in county jail, and got 5 years probation

Kayla Mooney

Police say what started as an invitation from a 17-year old student to his high school physics teacher to attend a concert turned into a relationship that culminated with the teacher having sex with the student and buying him alcohol.

Kayla Mooney, 24, who is on paid leave from Danbury High School, turned herself in following a seven-week investigation. The first-year science teacher was charged with felony second-degree sexual assault and the misdemeanor alcohol charge.

Sarah Jones

This infamous ex-Bengals cheerleader, 27, who was working as a teacher at an Ohio school made every teenager’s dream come true after banging a 17-year-old student.  She ended up getting arrested after hooking up with him on several occasions and fought in court.  She is now in a relationship with the student, after divorcing her husband, and is set to have her own television show. America!

Hope Jacoby

Arrested on the final day of school, Hope Jacoby was taken in for having a sexual relationship with a boy between 14 and 17 years old. This was confirmed once a picture of her was found on the male student’s cell phone. The 23 year old physical trainer at Tustin High School went free on bail, but was tried for oral copulation with a minor and unlawful sex with a minor.

 Lindsay Massaro

Sussex County elementary school teacher Lindsay Massaro, 26, taught 8th grade students.  She was accused of having sex with a 15 year old boy in her car and then in her bedroom after the victim’s father reported it to the authorities.  The relationship was consensual. She faces parole supervision for life.

Lisa Glide

Lisa Glide was sentenced to 5 years probation and faced up to a year in prison.  She had sexual intercourse with a 17 and a half year old boy twice. The boy said the following:

“I feel the entire case was blown far out of proportion and reason,” the victim wrote once he was a college sophomore. “I was the initiator of the contact, not Lisa Glide. I was clearly not a young child and Lisa Glide was not a sexual predator.”

Carrie McCandless

Carrie McCandless taught cheerleading at Brighton Charter High School in Colorado. She was accused of having sexual relations with a 17 year old male student during an sleepover school camping trip.  She provided the kids with alcohol and “did everything except having sex” with a male student while another male student slept nearby. She was sentenced to 45 days in jail.

Amy McElhenney

25 year old Spanish teacher and former Miss Texas contestant Amy McElhenney was accused of having sex with an 18 year old male student.  The age of consent in Texas is 18, but there’s a law forbidding teachers from having sexual relationships with students regardless of their age. The grand jury refused to find her guilty of an improper relationship with a student since the text messages colored their relationship as endearing and flirtatious, but she did lose her teacher credentials.

Michelle Preston

Michelle Preston, 27, of Shawnee Mission West High School, Kansas, was charged with three counts of having unlawful sexual relations between September and December 2010. She had sex with three students at her school aged 16 and 17. Naked photos of Preston – who taught psychology and geography as well as freshman cheerleading – were said to have been circulated by the students after the details of the affairs emerged.

Pamela Rogers Turner

Pamela Rogers Turner was 27 and an elementary school teacher/coach when she was arrested in February 2005 for having an ongoing relationship with a 13-year-old student. In August of 2005, she pleaded no contest to charges of sexual battery by an authority figure and was sentenced to 9 months in prison, as part of an 8 year suspended sentence for statutory rape.

In April 2006, she was arrested for turning around and doing it again! Turner was sentenced to serve the remaining seven years of her sentence in state prison, along with two more years after she pleaded guilty to sending the student naked pictures of herself which never resurfaced.

Amy Northcutt

Amy Northcutt and her husband, Justin Northcutt, were arrested for sending lewd text messages to a 16-year old female student and then arranging to have group sex with her.

Debra Lafave

Florida teacher Debra Lafave had sexual intercourse and oral sex with a 14 year old student. Charged with two felonies, she served no jail time because the boy’s mother didn’t want to put her son through the emotional turmoil of seeing the trial. She now has twins and is happily married.

Bhanbhagta Gurung

Bhanbhagta Gurung was a Nepalese civilian whose bravery and general badassery during World War II garnered him the Victoria Cross – the highest honor available to British and Commonwealth soldiers. Gurung singlehandedly attacked enemy foxholes with bayonets and grenades, at times coming in point-blank range of machine guns. The account of his deeds encapsulated by the British press:

“Without waiting for orders Bhanbhagta dashed forward alone and attacked the first enemy foxhole and, hurling grenades, he killed the two occupants. He then ran at the next foxhole, killing two of the enemy with his bayonet. Nearby, two other enemy foxholes were inflicting casualties on his section. Showing raw courage he attacked both positions, clearing them with grenades and finishing off the enemy with his bayonet.

Throughout these attacks Bhanbhagta was fired on continuously from a machine-gun situated on the tip of the objective. Realising this was holding up the advance of two of the battalion’s platoons, Bhanbhagta again edged forward and – keeping low – he made the top of the bunker only to find he had run out of hand grenades, so he flung two No 72 smoke grenades into the bunker slit. Two of the Japanese ran out, blinded, with their clothes aflame. Bhanbhagta killed them with his kukri. One foolishly brave Japanese remained inside, still firing the machine gun. Bhanbhagta crawled inside the bunker and, prevented by the cramped space from using his bayonet or kukri, beat the gunner to death with a rock.

With most objectives now taken and the enemy driven off, Bhanbhagta ordered a Bren gunner and two riflemen to hold the captured bunker with him. Under Bhanbhagta’s command, the small party in the bunker repelled with heavy losses the enemy counter-attack. Bhanbhagta’s extraordinary courage was contagious and inspired his fellow Gurkhas to fight like tigers. Snowden was held.”

Hugh Glass

Little is actually known about Glass. It was said that he was a former pirate who gave up his life at sea to travel to the West as a scout and fur trapper. Exactly when is unknown. He is believed to have been born in Philadelphia around 1783. 

He had already been in the Western wilderness for several years when he signed on for an expedition up the Missouri River in 1823 with the company of William Ashley and Andrew Henry. The expedition used long-boats similar to those used by Lewis and Clark 19 years earlier to ascend the Missouri as far as the Grand River near present-day Mobridge, SD. There Glass along with a small group of men led by Henry started overland toward Yellowstone.

At a point about 12 miles south of Lemmon, SD, now marked by a small monument, Glass surprised a grizzly bear and her two cubs while scouting for the party. He was away from the rest of the group at the time and the grizzly attacked him before he could fire his rifle. Using only his knife and bare hands, Glass wrestled the full-grown bear to the ground and killed it, but in the process he was badly mauled and bitten. 

His companions, hearing his screams, arrived on the scene to see a bloody and badly maimed Glass barely alive and the bear lying on top of him. They shot the bear head and uncovered Glass’s mangled body. They bandaged his wounds the best they could and waited for him to die. The party was in a hurry to get to Yellowstone, so Henry asked for volunteers to stay until Glass was dead and then bury him. John Fitzgerald and Jim Bridger agreed and immediately began digging the grave. But after three days Glass was still alive when Fitzgerald and Bridger began to panic as a band of hostile Indians was seen approaching. The two men picked up Glass’s rifle, knife and other equipment and dumped him into the open grave. They threw a bearskin over him and shoveled in a thin layer of dirt and leaves, leaving Glass for dead. 

But Glass did not die. After an unknown time, he regained consciousness to a very grim situation. He was alone and unarmed in hostile Indian territory. He had a broken leg and his wounds were festering. His scalp was almost torn away and the flesh on his back had been ripped away so that his rib bones were exposed. The nearest help was 200 miles away at Ft. Kiowa. His only protection was the bearskin hide.

Glass set his own broken leg and on September 9, 1823, began crawling south overland toward the Cheyenne River about 100 miles away. Fever and infection took their toll and frequently rendered him unconscious. Once he passed out and awoke to discover a huge grizzly standing over him. According to the legend, the animal licked his maggot-infested wounds. This may have saved Glass from further infection and death. Glass survived mostly on wild berries and roots. On one occasion he was able to drive two wolves from a downed bison calf and eat the raw meat.

According to Glass’s own account he was driven by revenge. He told others that the only thing that kept him going was the thought of killing the men who had left him for dead.

 It took Glass two months to crawl to the Cheyenne River. There he built a raft from a fallen tree and allowed the current to carry him downstream to the Missouri and on to Ft. Kiowa, a point about four miles north of the present-day Chamberlain.

After he regained his health, which took many months, Glass did indeed set out to kill the two men who had left him for dead. He found Bridger at a fur trading post on the Yellowstone River but didn’t kill him because Bridger was only 19 years old. Glass later found Fitzgerald but didn’t kill him either because Fitzgerald had joined the Army. 

Glass eventually returned to the Upper Missouri where he died in 1833 in a battle with hostile Arikaras Indians. As with many mountain men of the era, Glass himself wasn’t much of a talker. However the story of his trek was recounted far and wide among other frontiersmen and even the native American tribes. 

Dr. Leonid Rogozov

Leonid Rogozov was a Soviet doctor who took part in the sixth Soviet Antarctic Expedition from 1960 to 1961. Unfortunately In 1961, Rogozov developed peritonitis, meaning that he would have to get his appendix taken out or die. The problem? He was the only doctor stationed at the Novolazarevskaya Station in Antarctica at the time, the nearest help was a thousand miles away, and a massive blizzard was forming, which meant that he would have to perform the appendectomy on himself.

With two non-medically trained researchers standing by to pass him tools, Rogozov used a mirror, some novocaine, and a scalpel to remove his appendix over the course of an excruciating two-hour operation. In 1961 he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labour

Simo Hayha

Simo Häyhä is a man who didn’t discover what he was truly good at until he had to rise to the occasion. He lived a normal life in Finland as a farmer, and did a mandatory year in the military. It wasn’t until 1939 when the Soviet Union invaded his country, Häyhä decided not to back down. Instead, he went into the trees with a rifle, in -20 degree weather, and shot Russians.

Nicknamed the “White Death” for his totally white camouflage and eerie white mask he wore in combat, the Finnish marksman amassed at least 505 confirmed sniper kills during the Winter War. He recorded an additional 200 kills with a submachine gun. More amazingly, Häyhä recorded all of his sniper kills without using an optic. His Mosin–Nagant rifle was equipped only with iron sights.

“The Soviet’s efforts to kill Häyhä included counter-snipers and artillery strikes, but on March 6, 1940 Häyhä was shot in his lower left jaw by a Russian soldier. He was picked up by fellow soldiers who said “half his cheek was missing”, but he did not die, regaining consciousness on March 13, the day peace was declared. Shortly after the war, Häyhä was promoted from Alikersantti (Corporal) to Vänrikki (Second Lieutenant) by Field Marshal Carl Gustaf Emil Mannerheim. No one else has ever gained rank so quickly in Finland’s military history.”

Häyhä died of old age in 2002, living to the age of 96.

Jack Churchill

Lieutenant Colonel Jack “Mad Jack” Churchill of the British Army is regarded as one the greatest warriors of all time. 

During World War II he recorded what is thought to be the last confirmed bow and arrow kill in modern warfare, killing a Nazi NCO in France in 1940. The archery shot signaled the rest of his men to launch an attack on the Nazi patrol. Prior to his service in WW2, Churchill was the archery champion of Great Britain and represented his country in the world championships.

To signal the start of a raid on a German garrison in Norway in 1941, Churchill leapt out his position playing “March of the Cameron Men” on the bagpipes before tossing a grenade at the enemy position and getting into the fight.

He fought throughout the entirety of World War II armed with a longbow, arrows, and a Scottish broadsword. In July 1943, he led his commando unit from their landing site in Sicily with his broadsword hanging from his belt, his longbow and arrows around his neck, and his bagpipes under his arm. After infiltrating the town, he took 42 men prisoner, including a mortar squad.

When the war was over, Churchill was totally bummed out about it, remarking, “If it wasn’t for those damn Yanks, we could have kept the war going another 10 years.
